Sewer Scope Inspections
HD video camera evaluation of your main sewer line — the one inspection that can save you from a five-figure surprise after closing.
Sewer line repairs average $3,000–$25,000. A sewer scope inspection costs a fraction of that — and it's not visible in a standard home inspection.
How It Works
A non-invasive, camera-based inspection of your main sewer line from house to street.
Camera insertion
A flexible HD camera is fed into the sewer cleanout or toilet drain to access the main line.
Full line traversal
We run the camera the full length of the main sewer line from the house to the municipal connection.
Real-time review
You can watch the live feed and see exactly what we see — no guesswork, no surprises.
Findings documented
Any blockages, cracks, root intrusions, or pipe defects are recorded with timestamps and location notes.
Report delivered
A written summary with video footage is included in your inspection report within 24 hours.
What We Look For
Root intrusions
Tree roots are the #1 cause of sewer line damage in Florida. They infiltrate joints and can completely block or collapse a line.
Pipe cracks & collapses
Older clay or cast iron pipes crack and collapse over time. Repairs can run $5,000–$20,000+ if caught late.
Blockages & buildup
Grease, debris, and scale buildup restrict flow and signal a line that's overdue for service.
Common Questions
Is a sewer scope inspection standard?
It's not always included in a standard home inspection, but we strongly recommend it — especially for homes over 20 years old or with mature trees on the property.
How long does it take?
Typically 30–60 minutes as a standalone service, or added on to a full inspection with minimal extra time.
What if the camera can't access the line?
We'll document the access limitation in the report. In most cases we can access the line via the cleanout or a toilet. We'll let you know before we start if access looks problematic.
Can I use the findings to negotiate repairs?
Absolutely. Video documentation of a cracked or root-infested sewer line is powerful leverage for repair credits or price reductions.
